Blackflower - Delicious oasis in Chinatown

Who would have thought, that I would still go out and seek desserts after my gourmet indulgence in Paris? But of course, I would, because our desserts are at times comparable to Paris, and that I can't only have my indulgent desserts in Paris - that is deprivation! [KT: and snobbysm!]

But alas, we were only given one place to visit for May, because KT our dear CEO was away and didn't feel right indulging without her. But Blackflower is good for that - it feels to me like a quieter version of Adriano Zumbo, with a good selection of sweets and interesting flavours. And if we weren't satisfied, there are more delectable Asian desserts nearby (MeetFresh, Passionflower, just to name a couple).

There were the favourites - LUST is a must, as is Pacman. Surprisingly no one picked Envy, a green tea and sesame concoction which was also quite delicious. Nor did anyone order Mario's Garden, but I guess that'll be for the future visits?

Lust is still my favourite - rosewater, lychee creme, raspberry, and a crunchy base that just melts my heart every time. It should be called Divine, not Lust! And it's up there with the Pierre Hermé Ispahan (pretty much the same flavour combo). Pacman - a beautiful tangy mango and passionfruit dome - if you like tang, you'll love this! And the layers of "sour sop" - berry dessert - remember those sour war head candies? These weren't that mad, but still tangy enough to really get your mouth watering. Macarons - good texture, flavours were a hit and miss (but can be a personal choice) but it's delicate, not quite as good as Baroque, but definitely better than many!

Just a little aside - they also do great pizzas - but I was very surprised that our resident non-sweet tooth dessertee Ness didn't end up ordering one! ;)

Good coffee, which helped wash down the sweets. We were sufficiently sugared up but not overloaded. So we followed dessert with sushi!

Another good day. And now, the next big event - half-yearly home bake - Wallace and Gromit say CHEEEEESE~~~~ Yes, cheese-based dessert! I'm looking forward to maybe a couple of cheese cakes and a lot of creative flavour combos!
